Vulnerability Is The Wound

And in his vulnerability
A door did open
To the world
And to his soul
He was no longer hidden
Behind a great wall
Locked up in a cold fortress
But in his need
He reached out
And in that act of reaching
His hardened heart softened
And his rigid mind melted

Vulnerability is the wound
And the wound is the door
To our humanity
That which unites us
Each of us is vulnerable
To existence and
The wheel of fate
Each of us enters
Through the same door
And exits the same way
No one really knows why they are here
And we all stand trembling
At the vastness of the Universe

Why is it all we see are the differences between us?
