There is beauty here
When we slow down
When we drop the drama
Long enough to really see
It is not that beauty appears
For it is always here
It is us who suddenly see
Because we drop into awareness
This awareness is available always
But the incessant self is always active
Always doing, busying itself
Poking into reality
So beauty is always here
And awareness is always here
What then is the problem?
We are not always here
We are so distracted
Dragged by the past
Projected into the future
We miss what is ever present
And that is the most important part
There is an opening
Always an opening, a doorway
To beauty,
Just pay attention
From silence
And be still, not just in body
But in beingness
And watch mental activity
Without attachment
As though it were chattering birds
Pay no mind
To mind
And there it is, as it was, as it will be,
Always here.
