Each day we are invited
In every encounter we have
In all interactions, transactions and negotiations
And even the confrontations
We are being silently invited
Deeper, beyond the brittle self
Deeper, into a more intimate way
Deeper, into a true communion
But fear, rigidity and ignorance of the way
Prevents all but the few
Being fully present in these times
Here is the thing
If you can’t relate from silence
If your world is full of noise
You are not really alive
Not really living
Meet me in this silent presence
We will speak no words
When we greet each other
And our silence will say more
Than all meaningless chatter
That occupies the mind
But avoids the heart.
