Live From the Deepest Innocence

Awakening is a return to the garden
We never really left

The delusion of self belief
Has hijacked our innocence
And we are lost

There is a part of me
The despairs of the human condition
So full of potential
So full of possibility
Innovative, creative and compassionate

Yet greedy, brutal and self serving
Lost to beauty and love
Struggling with fear’s plague
Angry and enslaved to money

Ah! we are the carriers of light and dark
We are the holders of duality
And in our lostness
In our ignorance of our true nature
We choose one or the other
Or we swing backwards and forwards
Between the poles

Oh man and woman
The only way to peace
Is to know ourselves
As our innocence
That which never left the garden
That which we are prior to all this guilt and shame
Our only salvation lies there
In our essence
Only when we can live from the deepest innocence
Can we love without self
Without these terrible chains of bondage
We chain each other down with

Redouble your efforts
To discover freedom
It’s not far away
It’s closer than breath
More precious than blood
It’s the very fabric of you
So easy to miss
But calling your name
Calling you home.
