When the kindness
With which we meet the world
Has no cause
Because it doesn’t need any
There will be peace
Kindness is at the root
Of our humanity
It is the soft womb
From which we emerge
The fabric of our being
It is just ignored
With all the noise of self
And the business of the world
Kindness requires
A meeting of vulnerability
A recognition of oneness of all things
And a willingness to be humble
Yet it needs no cause
This kindness is profound
In it’s presence and its intimacy
It heals all that appears broken
And it allows all that was denied
Kindness is our nature
But we don’t know our nature
Until we stumble upon it
Then we know nothing else
It is not a practice
It is a way of life.
