The Beautiful Reunion

We build a wall around our vulnerability and innocence
And live seemingly outside it for many years
Until we realize it no longer serves us
And then we find we don’t know how to take it down
The wall of defense became a prison
Without us ever noticing

Eventually, through persistence, inquiry and grace
We rediscover the innocence hidden for so long
Still there waiting for our return
This is a beautiful reunion
And heralds a return to the wholeness and harmony
We truly are and never left.
