Moment of Grace

When life breaks you
When it finally brings you to your knees
Which it will do, unless your heart is made of stone,
But when that time comes
Please know you are in a moment of grace
When all the defenses previously employed have collapsed
And the water of the divine is flooding the land

This moment is when the illusion of separation
Between you and existence, you and god, dissolves
And all that remains is the eternal this-ness of life
If you are on your knees
Don’t get up, but live from that place
And your humility and truth will touch everyone
It will pour from you as it poured into you
This is beauty.

Beautiful! In AA, we call this the “surrender” moment or the moment of clarity. The moment you realize that you don’t have as much control as you think you do.
