Fear demanded attention
Threatening all manner of horrors
It rose up like a demon
And covered the radiant sky
In a dark and ominous cloud
It proclaimed dominion over the world
And over all beings that walked upon it
Humanity shuddered under the weight
Unable to resist fear’s manipulation of truth
And then love arrived
Not a weak kind of transactional love
But a powerful love with light at its centre
Blazingly brilliant sun at its pulsating heart
Ferocious and wrathful, resolute and affirmative
The kind of love that dissolves everything that is not itself
The same battles have been playing themselves out For millennia
In the human heart and soul and mind
Generation upon generation
Individuals, societies and civilizations
Rising and falling,
Shrouded by the veil of fear
Coming into the light of love
And disappearing back into the darkness
Only an inner revolution
In the heart and the soul of each individual
Truly matters
Each of us called to meet the tyranny of fear
And its constant desire for dominion
And to find it within ourselves
To blaze unconditional, ferocious, affirmative, love
Like a millions suns took up residence in our chest
And now all that comes into our orbit
Is dissolved back into the love that we really are.
