I don’t know how it happened
It just gradually happened
As if by itself
In its own time
Without me noticing
The switch
From the separating of things
To everything being included
And being fundamentally accepted
I don’t know how it happened
It wasn’t something I did
But eventually the separate self
Dissolved into unity

Maybe it was as inevitable
As the cliff that finally falls into the ocean
After countless years of erosion

It wasn’t a big bang
No trumpets or fanfare
Nothing grandiose
Just a simple shift
Almost imperceptible
And entirely natural
As though the final step
Was the smallest
As though the final breath
Was the ‘Ahhh,’ of the final release.
