WELCOME ALL PARTS HOME

You can try hiding parts of yourself away
Without even realizing it
For a lifetime
But they will never disappear
Nothing does
These denied and turned away from parts
Have an underground life in the shadow world
Influencing your actions, words and experiences
Seemingly hell bent on destruction
But actually trying to grab your attention
So they can come to the light of wholeness
And be welcomed home to love.

THE MAJESTIC SILENCE OF BEING

A thousand emotions may flow through the valley
A deluge, a tsunami, a great flood
A fire, a volcano, a thunderbolt
All were allowed to flow unimpeded
But still you were there
Walking through that valley, step upon step,
Resolute, clear seeing, calm and unwavering

There is a kind of warrior-ship of presence
That has nothing to do with fighting
And more to do with some majestic silence of being
Each of us has the capacity to discover it
And each can choose to walk rooted in that presence
For the rest of our days.

THE SYSTEM IS DYING. A NEW ONE IS BEING BIRTHED.

Friend, this old system
Corrupted from the inside
Like a cancer finally claiming the host
Is dying
We are experiencing
The thrashing of the tail
As it struggles to hold on to control
And stay alive
But fate will take its course
And this system will perish

Take heart…..

For there is already a new system stirring
We cannot yet see its fullness, its flowers
Or its new growth
It is winter, the season of die back
When there are no signs of life
But still they are there somewhere, waiting

You and I, we must gather ourselves,
We must stay deep and rooted in our presence
We must herald out the old order
And be ready to usher in something new
We may not be here long enough to see it
But those who follow us need us to plant the seeds deep
Those seeds must be authentic and true
They must be wet with love, juicy and ripe and ready
There is a bigger story at play here
And the turning is happening
You are needed, like a drop of nectar is needed
Like a homeopathic remedy is needed
Like an acupuncture needle is needed
Like a robust and pulsatingly alive cell is needed

Do not do yourself a disservice by feeling powerless
There is power locked up in each individuation
The power of love, of truth, of goodness
And, for the sake of the new system,
It is time to release that power into the world.

THE DEEPENING

Some call this journey awakening
I don’t
I call it the deepening
I prefer the metaphor and the imagery of deepening
It speaks to something inside us that is hungry for the light
It calls to the soul, the heart and our longing

Everyone knows that the word deepening presupposes
That we will have to meet shadows and wounds
So it comes with a warrior’s challenge

Deepening, there is no escape, no avoidance
Of course it is scary, terrifying even
But that’s the nature of deepening
To meet ourselves and life so fully
So transparently, so tenderly,
That something transforms
From the deepest outwards.

The Warrior Sleeps Within

We must have the resilience
To walk through this great divide
When the forces of one against the other
Threaten our very lives and safety
We must walk as wholeness and with clear seeing
With hearts open and minds unyielding to the pull of the tide

Though I walk through this
Valley of darkness and shadows
I will not yield my openness
Neither will I fall back into fear

Although the threat seems real
Only love’s tender embrace of all life
Has the power to transform
Coal to diamonds

In extraordinary times
A secret power arises within us
The warrior sleeps quietly within
But, upon the call of the distant horn,
Awakens and prepares
In silent prayer

It is you, and it is I,
Who are the guardians of love
Who are the gatekeepers of the tender heart.

Becoming Whole

For if we cannot bear our own brokenness
And the brokenness of the world
We are doomed to deny it
And from our denial we will create a monster
Born of the shadows, of shame and rage,
Projected outwards in its desperation to be seen

And a world will be created in our image
But it will be a false world built on lies and fear
Its structures made of the sand of ignorance
Everything will be dominated by division
And we will forget who we are

Without bearing our brokenness
We are ghosts that haunt the earth
Trying to get home

So we must turn towards our wounds
Bear our grief and our shame
Embrace our mortality and our shadows
And begin the process
Of becoming whole

This is the only way home
There are no shortcuts.

Cry the World

Today there is a need for tenderness
A soft warm loving kindness
That heals all sorrow and division
I am tired of the world
And its relentless argument
Weary of those who seek power for its own sake

I am drawn back to childhood memories
Of England’s green pastures of the sixties
My life lived in wonderment and innocence
And then wrenched from that innocence
By those I thought infallible and god-like

Everything seems so far away now
As I sit here in the enchanted land

So many have I known
All disappeared into the beyond
Young and old alike
Some lived a short and troubled life
Others aged well like a mature wine
All now wrapped up in this tender heart

And here we are in these days
When meeting each other openly
In freedom, face to face,
Reading the subtle movement of lips
Seems already a distant memory

My friend, my beautiful friend
I wish we could sit together
Just sit together in the silence that heals
Just sit and cry the world
Back to its natural intelligence
And let this heavy heart surrender its weight
Into the openness that can hold everything.

The Existential Abyss of Freedom

Yes, you must recognize your aloneness
And fall into the existential void
Yes, it may be terrifying
And bring you face to face with all that has been avoided
Yes, you will meet meaninglessness
And be forced to become intimate with death
But this is not the end of you
Only the end of the dream of you
There is a big difference
This dream we imagine to be so real
Must be seen all the way
Not sort of, some of the way,
But all the way
And only then will it be fully released
And therein lies the peace and equanimity
It is powerful, it takes willingness and great courage
But I have not met one person
Who does not have the capacity to do it.

Living Cell in a Global Body

As we fall deeper into the rabbit hole of dissolution
And the future becomes increasingly uncertain
We are each called to choose between two very different paths

Everything depends on the inner vibrations we choose from here on
We can choose to stay with our default vibration, and resonate
At disempowered, fear based, shame based and cut off from source
Which is all we have been taught and learned through our conditioning
Through our religions and our personal wounding

Or we can make courageous, warrior-like decisions,
To throw off these shackles of limitation as no longer needed
And step naked into our authority, our innocent wisdom
And our communion with natural intelligence, which is our birthright

The turning of the ages is calling us, and it is not settled how it will be
The new age could herald a metamorphosis of human consciousness
And human relating, an evolutionary shift that brings extraordinary freedom and peace
Or it could bring a kind of top down tyranny of oppressive globalization
That all but enslaves humanity in a psychic and physical prison

We, you and I, need to make decisions within ourselves
About our own frequencies and vibration
Is it love, and all the courage it takes to let go of the old ways?
Or is it fear, that familiar, hateful, prison that is the current paradigm?

Don’t imagine it doesn’t matter
Everyone is a living cell in the global body
And each cell counts towards the whole
Resonating at wellbeing and light
Or toxicity and darkness

Yes, we are in those times.

The Seeds of Love

My friend, let us shelter here
Where it is quiet and dry
There is a storm approaching
And I fear a tumult and a tempest

But here in our shelter, let us not be distracted,
Instead may we dive into our tender hearts
And learn to love again in freedom and trust

We are like seeds, you and I,
And even if the storm destroys much of what we know
And we will be left in grief and despair
Still these seeds will inevitably grow again

Love, the love that is true, cannot die
It can only be occluded by shadows
And eventually those shadows
Will be exposed to the light.
