Cry the World

Today there is a need for tenderness
A soft warm loving kindness
That heals all sorrow and division
I am tired of the world
And its relentless argument
Weary of those who seek power for its own sake

I am drawn back to childhood memories
Of England’s green pastures of the sixties
My life lived in wonderment and innocence
And then wrenched from that innocence
By those I thought infallible and god-like

Everything seems so far away now
As I sit here in the enchanted land

So many have I known
All disappeared into the beyond
Young and old alike
Some lived a short and troubled life
Others aged well like a mature wine
All now wrapped up in this tender heart

And here we are in these days
When meeting each other openly
In freedom, face to face,
Reading the subtle movement of lips
Seems already a distant memory

My friend, my beautiful friend
I wish we could sit together
Just sit together in the silence that heals
Just sit and cry the world
Back to its natural intelligence
And let this heavy heart surrender its weight
Into the openness that can hold everything.

The Existential Abyss of Freedom

Yes, you must recognize your aloneness
And fall into the existential void
Yes, it may be terrifying
And bring you face to face with all that has been avoided
Yes, you will meet meaninglessness
And be forced to become intimate with death
But this is not the end of you
Only the end of the dream of you
There is a big difference
This dream we imagine to be so real
Must be seen all the way
Not sort of, some of the way,
But all the way
And only then will it be fully released
And therein lies the peace and equanimity
It is powerful, it takes willingness and great courage
But I have not met one person
Who does not have the capacity to do it.

Living Cell in a Global Body

As we fall deeper into the rabbit hole of dissolution
And the future becomes increasingly uncertain
We are each called to choose between two very different paths

Everything depends on the inner vibrations we choose from here on
We can choose to stay with our default vibration, and resonate
At disempowered, fear based, shame based and cut off from source
Which is all we have been taught and learned through our conditioning
Through our religions and our personal wounding

Or we can make courageous, warrior-like decisions,
To throw off these shackles of limitation as no longer needed
And step naked into our authority, our innocent wisdom
And our communion with natural intelligence, which is our birthright

The turning of the ages is calling us, and it is not settled how it will be
The new age could herald a metamorphosis of human consciousness
And human relating, an evolutionary shift that brings extraordinary freedom and peace
Or it could bring a kind of top down tyranny of oppressive globalization
That all but enslaves humanity in a psychic and physical prison

We, you and I, need to make decisions within ourselves
About our own frequencies and vibration
Is it love, and all the courage it takes to let go of the old ways?
Or is it fear, that familiar, hateful, prison that is the current paradigm?

Don’t imagine it doesn’t matter
Everyone is a living cell in the global body
And each cell counts towards the whole
Resonating at wellbeing and light
Or toxicity and darkness

Yes, we are in those times.

The Seeds of Love

My friend, let us shelter here
Where it is quiet and dry
There is a storm approaching
And I fear a tumult and a tempest

But here in our shelter, let us not be distracted,
Instead may we dive into our tender hearts
And learn to love again in freedom and trust

We are like seeds, you and I,
And even if the storm destroys much of what we know
And we will be left in grief and despair
Still these seeds will inevitably grow again

Love, the love that is true, cannot die
It can only be occluded by shadows
And eventually those shadows
Will be exposed to the light.

Stand in the Authority of Love

Even in these darkest times
When things seem useless
And the predatory beasts
Appear to hover around us
Feeding on fear and anxiety

Know this my dear and tender friend
Everything resolves into love eventually

When the mind tires of its incessant struggle
The heart awakens
When there seems as though no solution is coming
And we are adrift on the existential ocean

Know this dear heart
Everything resolves into love

There is only love, no matter what appearance fear may have
No matter how despicable and manipulative
How persuasive and confident it may look
Do not yield the deepest part of yourself to it
Save that tiniest little bit in your deepest being
And know it, and yourself, and existence,
As love

There is such power when the veil is torn off
And we stand, naked and free, innocent and wise
In the authority of love
Don’t desert the truth any longer
It is this that unites us in our collective body
Brave the storm and know the love that is your birthright
Once forgotten now remembered.

Already Masked Up

How many masks will we wear
Before we realize
We were already wearing masks
Because shame is at the root
Of unconsciousness
And we live in a world
Where people hide their vulnerability
And hide their grief
Afraid of revealing themselves

This new mask syndrome is convenient
But, on the existential level,
Doomed to failure

We are born for contact, for connection
We are trained to watch each other’s every detail
We stare into the eyes and face of our mother
Reading with wonder every twitch, smile and frown
And now all we see are the eyes of strangers
Some hostile, some benevolent, many scared
Reaching out across space and time
Like stars blinking in a dark universe

We were already masked up
Hiding how we feel
This current masking brings us to our grief
The height of our apparent separation from each other
Secretly, on the shadow side,
I think many actually want to wear masks

We are at our grief point my friend
Breakdown or breakthrough, who knows which

I am sorry, please forgive me, I love you.

Speak Goodness Into the World

The tears of grief we cry
That come from the depth of us
Are themselves the source
Of the goodness we speak into the world

The spring water that is so fresh to taste
Comes from within the deepest earth

The deeper we are able to go into existence
The richer are the gifts we can offer
And when the world is hurting so much
And most cannot find that spring water

Maybe you and I can say
‘Here, come over here and drink a little
You must be weary on the road.’

All we can really offer is an open heart.

WHY WE NEED TO GRIEVE

This poem is a call to grief
A call for us to throw off our defenses
To tear off the stony masks
That cover our pain
And to grieve innocently and fully
Wherever we are
Whatever our circumstances

We must grieve
To renew
It is part of the cycle of joy
Which is part of the essence of life
Grief is an acknowledgment
Of our humanity, our vulnerability
And our temporariness

Grief is the balm the ego needs
To soften its aggrandizement

And now we are here, at home,
Confused, angry, anxious, alone
Losing loved ones and strangers alike
We have always been losing loved ones and strangers alike
Death and suffering surround us

But now our fragility and our vulnerability
Are in true focus
The truth of our condition is here to be seen
And to be felt
We are fragile
And the web of life is fragile

We can’t pretend any longer
To pretend is to deny
And to deny
Is what causes us to bury our darkness
Deeper and deeper
Until it becomes a monster

My friend, don’t be afraid of grief
It is the doorway to beauty
And all that is real
Be afraid of falseness and denial
It will make you cold and brittle

We are in extraordinary times
When we are being reminded of the truth
That we cannot turn away from our humanity
Or carry on in our old ways
What an opportunity.

The Mind is The Problem, Not the Solution

The mind is capricious
It is complex and untrustworthy
The mind is a story teller
That feeds on old wounds
And a vivid imagination
It is the carrot dangler
And the harbinger of doom
When left to its own devices
It will rule you, fool you
And overrule you

We are enslaved to mind
As to a narcissist king
Pretending to be
An innocent servant

Without insight, depth and humility
Without reflection and a deeper wisdom
Without empathy, compassion and heart
We are destined to be at war for many a year
Mind and against mind
Self against self
People against people
When we are at war with ourselves
We have no chance of being at peace with others

So I have to declare my call
Make peace with yourself, my friend
Stop fighting with your mind
It doesn’t hold the solution
You must go deeper into the unknown
Like some mythological hero’s tale
You will have to venture into the dark
And conquer demons and dark shadows
There is no other way than within

Only by liberating yourself from mind’s tyranny
Will mind come back into service as exquisite technician

Without this deeper inquiry
Man is but a beast driven mad by his own pain
Unable to be present
He projects his pain outwards onto the world
Telling himself stories he then believes
Without really knowing the truth about anything

Our moment is here,
We live in extraordinary times
When the unravelling of falsehood is possible
But only when we develop our warrior nature.

The Door of Opportunity is Open

There is a miracle in our midst
But, in our ignorance,
We turn away again and again
Choosing to indulge our imagination
Gambling on the ego
Who now drives the bus
So recklessly

We who turn away
From innocence and love
And invest ourselves in mind
And all its trickster ways
Its hustle and its narcissism
We have invested in a charlatan

And now, in these extraordinary times,
With so many people parting the veil,
A mass awakening covering the earth,
We get to see clearly
The emperor has no clothes
The ego alone cannot save us

The collective dream has run its course
The investment, gambled over centuries of self
Has left us spiritually bankrupt
Disconnected from our essential nature
Driven by demons of greed and power

Bu there is a miracle in our midst
Call it heart, soul, spirit, truth, or love
And the door of opportunity is open
The invitation has arrived on our doorstep

And thrown down the gauntlet to each of us
From this time on
What do we choose
What do we really value most
Do we surrender ourselves
To the tyranny of ego hive mind
And stay as we were

Or….
Do we rise into our magnificence
And, equally, fall into our hearts
Can we do that, return to innocence
Become the embodiment of love’s truth
We have the capacity
It’s there in our very DNA
It may require strength of character
And a great willingness to transform
But in my heart
I know
That is our way forward

The door is open
Can we walk through it.
