Let us rebuild the world
With heartfelt praise
Let us water it back to life
With our grief made visible
There is beauty inside everything
But it must be spoken to
It must be courted
As the lover courts his beloved
The world is dry, parched of love water
Choked of grace, longing to be praised
And if we do this, if we offer our deepest,
We will be bringing ourselves back to life
For it is really us who are lost on the road
A thirsty traveller going who knows where
Forgotten why we are even there
Stumbling along, distracted and confused
Let us decide now, you and I,
To rebuild whatever world we can
To allow our tears and our joy
To fall into existence
And bring nourishment
For the benefit of all beings.
